What is LINK?
LINK is a collaborative space where school districts, counselors, nurses, principals, and other education leaders from across East Harris County meet with community partners to coordinate support for students and families. Topics include mental and behavioral health, basic needs, attendance, crisis response, and referrals to services. This meeting helps build ongoing cross-district relationships and shared problem-solving.
Volunteer Role: Event Support & Hospitality
We’re looking for friendly, reliable volunteers to help us create a smooth, welcoming experience for our district partners and community providers.
Volunteer Responsibilities

Check-in & Welcome
-
Greet attendees as they arrive between 8:30 AM and 9:00 AM.

Help guests sign in using a QR code and direct them to breakfast and seating.

Assist with distributing name badges, table tents, and any printed materials.

Event Setup
-
Assist EHCEC staff with morning setup from 7:30 AM – 8:30 AM, including:

Setting up registration tables and signage
-
Placing district/role table tents at each table

Helping display program/resource materials for ELQN, BAP, and partner tables

Checking that technology (slides looping, projector, etc.) is ready and visible.

Hospitality & Refreshments
-
Help arrange breakfast items (bagels, muffins, fruit, etc.) and keep the table stocked.

Maintain a clean and welcoming refreshment area.
Wrap-Up
-
Help with light breakdown after the meeting, collect supplies, and pack materials
Ideal Volunteers

Comfortable greeting guests and talking to school staff and community partners

Reliable and punctual for early morning setup

Able to stand and move around during check-in and networking
-
Professional, friendly, and respectful — you are representing EHCEC in front of district leadership
Bonus but not required:

Comfortable using a tablet/iPad to help attendees sign in via QR code

Bilingual (English/Spanish)
