About the Opportunity
Join the East Harris County Empowerment Council (EHCEC) in promoting community resilience! We are seeking volunteers to assist with our Disaster Preparedness Training Workshop, where community members will learn how to stay safe and ready during emergencies.
As a volunteer, you’ll play a key role in helping this event run smoothly — from greeting attendees to distributing preparedness kits that support families on their journey to resiliency.
Volunteer Tasks

Assist with event setup (arranging tables, chairs, and materials)

Greet and check in attendees as they arrive

Help distribute disaster preparedness kits and informational packets

Provide general event support throughout the workshop

Assist with cleanup and packing up after the event
Volunteer Requirements

Friendly and professional demeanor

Comfortable engaging with community members

Able to stand or move around for short periods

Must arrive by 5:00 PM for setup and stay until cleanup ends
