About the Event
Join the East Harris County Empowerment Council (EHCEC), Rhodes School for the Performing Arts, and community partners for the Rhodes School Back-2-School Community Engagement Event.
Volunteers will help distribute school-supply kits to local students and families. Your support will help ensure students begin the new school year prepared, confident, and ready to learn.
Volunteer Responsibilities
Volunteers may assist with:
Setting up the outdoor event space
Organizing and preparing school-supply kits
Welcoming students and families
Directing attendees through the event
Managing lines and maintaining an organized flow
Distributing school-supply kits
Restocking the distribution area
Supporting event staff and community partners
Cleaning and breaking down the event space
Important: Outdoor Event
This event will take place outdoors. Volunteers should:
Dress comfortably for the weather.
Wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes.
Apply sunscreen before arriving.
Bring a reusable water bottle.
Consider wearing a hat.
Be prepared to stand and walk for extended periods.
Volunteer Requirements
Arrive by 1:00 PM for check-in, instructions, and setup.
Be willing to lift and move light boxes or supplies.
Serve every student and family with patience, kindness, and respect.
Remain through the conclusion of the shift and assist with cleanup.
