Join us for the 3rd Annual Juneteenth Celebration—a vibrant community event honoring African American freedom, culture, and progress. This year’s celebration continues our commitment to empowerment and equity, bringing together residents, families, and local partners for a day of unity and reflection.
Purpose:
This event commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in Texas, celebrating heritage, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of justice and equality. It also serves as a platform to connect residents with community resources, health and wellness services, and civic engagement opportunities.

Live Entertainment featuring local performers and cultural presentations Wellness & Resource Fair offering health screenings, info booths, and family support services Community Vendors & Food Trucks spotlighting Black-owned businesses and culinary favorites Youth Activities including art stations, storytelling, and interactive games Empowerment Talks & Tributes honoring leaders past and present This event is made possible through the support of our community partners, volunteers, and local leaders who continue to uplift the East Harris County region.
Volunteer Tasks:
1. Event Setup & Breakdown - Assist with assembling and dismantling tables, tents, signage, and booth areas before and after the event.
2. Vendor Support - Help direct community resource vendors to their designated spaces and ensure they have what they need throughout the event.
3. Community Engagement - Greet attendees, answer questions, and help create a warm, inclusive environment for all guests.
4. EHCEC Program Promotion - Share information about East Harris County Empowerment Council’s initiatives and encourage attendees to get involved or access services.
