About the Opportunity

Help EHCEC create a welcoming and organized experience for everyone visiting the Channelview Foundations of Hope. The Front Desk Volunteer will greet community members, assist with sign-in, answer basic questions, and connect visitors with the appropriate EHCEC staff member or service.

Volunteer Responsibilities

Sit at and monitor the front desk

Welcome visitors as they arrive

Ask visitors how they can be assisted

Help visitors sign in and complete registration forms

Answer basic questions about EHCEC programs and services

Direct visitors to the appropriate staff member or service area

Notify staff when appointments or guests arrive

Answer and transfer phone calls as needed

Make copies, scan documents, and organize paperwork

Prepare forms, packets, and program materials

Keep the front desk and waiting area clean and organized

Protect the privacy and personal information of visitors

Assist EHCEC staff with other basic clerical tasks

Volunteer Requirements

Be friendly, patient, dependable, and professional

Arrive on time and remain at the front desk during the scheduled shift

Day of Dignity is an initiative of Islamic Relief USA (IRUSA) that brings organizations, volunteers, and community partners together to provide essential items, supportive services, and meaningful assistance to families experiencing financial hardship. The initiative is centered on ensuring every person is served with respect, compassion, dignity, and choice.

Through this Day of Dignity event, Crosby-area students and families will receive backpacks, grade-appropriate school supplies, clothing, shoes, hygiene items, food assistance, and connections to valuable community resources. The event will also include free haircuts, games, face painting, and family-friendly activities to help students begin the school year feeling prepared, confident, and supported.

Volunteers will help bring IRUSA’s Day of Dignity initiative to life by creating a welcoming, organized, and respectful experience for every family served.

Volunteers may assist with:
